The Final Farewell

Well kids, we are at the very end of the Piscean age and goddammit its going out with a big ass bang! 

In case you've been under a rock somewhere let me inform you of the very Piscean hoopla going on in the small town of Columbia, Missouri at the University of Missouri-Columbia. A student by the name of Jonathan Butler decided to sacrifice himself for the greater good of all his colored comrades. He boldly declared that he would go on a hunger strike until Tim Wolfe, the University president resigned.  

Wow. Thats really intense right? He eloquently articulated the he would refrain from nourishing his body with any substances and was willing to do so until his internal organs suffered irreversible damage and he ultimately slipped away. This declaration naturally brought widespread attention to the schools various activist groups that had been staging demonstrations on the campus the previous months before Jonathan's act of compassion.


Wolfe is being accused of looking the other way when racist events happen against students of color on the campus. Melonated students, alumni and faculty are all in an uproar and yelling out that they deserve to be fairly included. They're not just asking but literally demanding (yes, an activist group #ConcernedStudent1950 has made out a list of demands for the University) a chance to integrate fully into the larger system that is Mizzou.

So, how is all this related to the Age of the Fishes? So glad you asked...

Pisces is the last of the 12 signs and their motif is self sacrifice. They go about their lives making small sacrifices for others, thus they are the sign of compassion and unconditional love. Willing to do anything for those that they love, they will even go as far as killing themselves. Butlter, whether conscious of it or not has stepped onto the galactic stage and put on the final dramatic show dedicated to the exiting energy of Pisces. He was willing to give his life for his fellow colored cohort. Frustrated, fearless and with love in his heart he genuinely planned to die for the cause of integration; which is another theme of the fishes. 

Now, being the final sign, it naturally has a bit of all the other signs within it. Thus it is super easy for pisces to fit in with any crowd, go along with the flow of anything and relate to almost anyone. Integration is a Piscean theme that our ancestors marched for. Were jailed for. Bit up by dogs for. Sprayed with high pressure water for. And ultimately died for. 

Yes, we have seen lots of sacrifice over the years for the sake of inclusion into a system that is repulsed by our very existence. 

In the year 2000 we began the shift from passive, 'we shall overcome', begging to be loved Age of Pisces to the wild, eclectic and rebellious Age of Aquarius. 

The water bearer does not beg for membership...it simply creates its own club. The sign of Aquarius is waaaay different from Pisces but still holds the same theme: equality and love for all. However these energies have two completely different ways of achieving this.

Ladies and Gentleman...buckle up because shit is about to get real.

Aquarius does not care about being different and has no intention at all of integrating with anything that boxes it in, abuses it or above all does not accept it for what it is. A Delightfully Grim Celebration!

So I'm a day late (but never a dollar short) on the reporting of a fantastically grim holiday that just passed: Day of the Dead or 
Dias Los Muertes.

This Mexican holiday is celebrated every year to honor, mourn and pray for those that have passed into the spirit realm. Offerings are put out in remembrance of our deceased loved ones and prayers are recited to help them along with their spiritual journey.


It is around this time that the veil between the spirit world and this one is the thinnest so souls that have passed are able to roam the earth again. They can relive, celebrate and mourn their own journeys that have come to an end in this dimension. These spirits can visit loved ones and family and accept the love, prayers and support that us in the physical realm offer on this day.

Its important to remember that life never stops! Our souls continue on a journey of evolution even when our bodies physically die. On this day we show support to the spirits who may it need to to solider on!




Another cool fact about Day of the Dead is its origins. It goes back hundreds of years and originated as a festival to honor the great Goddess Mictecacihuatl (don't even ask me how to pronounce this name...just don't). She is the pre-hispanic Mexica goddess of the dead. She is said to be the protector of the souls residing in the dark underworld. Needless to say she is a Dark Goddess! You know we are ALL ABOUT the dark goddesses over here!

She was not feared but loved dearly by those who worshipped her. Her holiday originally fell at the end of July and throughout mid August to honor not only the dead but children (This is Leo season and Leo rules over children. Its an easy assumption to make that our Mexican Ancestors were star gazers!). After spanish conquest it was moved to the end of October to make it coincide with All Saints Day, a Catholic Holiday. The half assed attempts to convert the Dark Goddess to a Christian figure failed and to this day we still celebrate her and all of her dark glory!

The idea of death is frightening to some. We may look at it as a time where everything ceases to be and there is no more. The dark Goddesses Mictecacihuatl, Kali, Oya, Medusa ect are all here to show us that life is cyclical and eternal. On a symbolic level certain parts of yourself must die in order for you to be reborn new and better than ever. On a physical level it is inevitable that we all come face to face with death. But even this event leads us to transformation.

I think the idea of this holiday is to welcome death. Not fear it. Understand it and grow from it.

Super Moon in Taurus "Defining Your Worth"

We are once again upon completing another (and final) Super Moon cycle. On October 27th, the full moon will announce her presence in the sign of the bull, Taurus. As we begin to live out the "I Am" affirmations that we boldly declared under the Aries Blood Moon, we now have a new agenda to recognize our most treasured resources, and focus on what we HAVE (even if you don't "literally" have it yet).  But before we go casting our spells willy-nilly into the Universe, let's embrace the super power of Taurus by slowing down, and get a better understanding of the energies we are working with....

Taurus is a fixed, feminine Earth sign, ruled by the planet Venus. That being said, already we know that Taurus is stable, receptive, sensual, and pleasure-seeking. It is the part of Venus that governs whatever makes us feel good, according to our five senses. On a deeper level, Taurus governs our value system, which should ultimately extend outside of our physical and material comforts. By doing so, we experience a boost in our self-esteem, and we send out the signal to the Universe that we are already happy, healthy and rich. This gives her permission to reflect this energy back to us by giving unlimited abundance. Why? Because we deserve it. Says who? Says you!

My advice for the coming days would be watch your thoughts and how you feel about yourself. Even if you are in a bad place, and don't find much value in who you are, start with your "I Am" statements (make however many you want to!) and work from there. You are whoever you say you are and it is ultimately up to you to define your own worth. Look to see what sign Venus falls in in your natal chart and study the unique qualities and characteristics associated with that sign. Celebrate and be unapologetic about them! My Venus is in the quirky sign of Aquarius. My affirmation has been, "I am beautiful, intelligent, funny, open-minded and compassionate!" Now that I know what I am, I know what it is that I value within myself. Taurus, once again, is a fixed sign, and when we discover what it is we value internally, we will build a solid, indisputable understanding of who we are and what we're worth :)

Utilizing the Blood Moon Energy!

Did you all catch the blood moon that passed?? Unfortunately it was too cloudy in our area to actually see the fantastic (and ultra rare) event but we were still able to have a blood moon party, put our desires and wishes into the Universe and celebrate! 

The Blood Moon represents BIG CHANGES in ones personal life and the world around them. Change is inevitable so there is no real reason to fear it. Embrace the Blood Moon and the changes it brings by inviting it in with a positive attitude, gratitude and no fear of loss or lack of.

Now that the moon has officially entered the Crone phase (or new moon) its safe to say that blood moon energy isn't as intense but don't fear...its still there! I personally believe energy that powerful will linger around for a bit so take advantage of it while you still can. Here are few things you can do to utilize the last of the energy.

• Go on a red food fast in honor of the Blood Moon in Aires. This fast can last how ever long you wish it to last. That can be a few hours, days or what ever you like!
• Get Active! Go for a run, play a sport, do some movement! Aires is a very active sign, this is a good way to honor this energy.
• Be spontaneous! Just get up and take a walk in the park, go to a sporting event, do something different to your hair (Aries rules the head). 
• Write down your desires, wishes, spells (whatever you call them) and release them into the Universe. We burn our desires outside under the moon but you do whatever feels best for you.

Now here is where you kick back and celebrate your hard work. I myself, usually burn the spells I have been sitting on for the previous phases of the moon. Symbolizing the release and celebration of the energy into the Universe. During this phase we ejaculate our hard work and desires into the Universe and she births them! You, however, may do what ever you like in commemoration of your accomplishments. It’s your thang honey!

The Full moon represents the highest energy cycle of the moon and you’re in luck this go round because this full moon is particularly powerful! This time she is considered the Super Moon and will be one of the brightest of the year. Expect the crazies to come out and play tonight but its also a great time to really focus your desires and wishes into the Universe.

However keep in mind lovelies…manifesting what you want is nothing like Hollywood makes it out to be. Just because this moon is super doesn’t mean that if you put a weight lost spell into the Universe tonight you’ll wake up tomorrow a size 5 with an apple booty. Doesn’t work like that. You’ll still have to put in the same amount of effort. And the same stipulations apply: thought dictates energy. Let us not forget spell work is simply the conscious manipulation of energy. I believe that GOD is the source of everything, I don't so much believe in a domineering God looking down on us waiting on us to fuck up so he can call up his homeboy Satan to drag us underground into a pit of fire. I don't see GOD as something superior to myself. I see GOD as something within me. Now, I do believe in a supreme force that created everything. But I like to look at it like this:

Imagine this supreme force as an ocean...and we are cups out of that ocean. No, we are not bigger than the ocean BUT we are of it. We hold the same make up, the same divinity. Everything that the ocean is, we are. It is our SOURCE. Get it? Now...how does this relate to Black Women you say? Thought you'd never ask...

Black woman are literally the source. It is theorized that a Black Hole is responsible for spitting out or Galaxy...It is a black hole that spit us out! The first human on the planet was a black woman. A skeleton by the name of Lucy was found in Africa and was said to be the oldest human remains discovered to date. So, this means that she and only the Universe knows how many other Black Women had to have given birth to humanity and the world as we know it today.

She is the physical source. She is the physical manifestation of GOD.

I've been turning a question over in my head for quite some time now; Is it possible that Africans are ALL AT ONCE? Now let me explain...

We know that we have this continent to thank for modern civilization, architect, art & music, astrology, science, mathematics, culture, religion, people, gold, water, pyramids, hip-hop, all around dopeness, (did I miss anything?) BUT for some strange reason we have began to believe that all of this dopeness derived from ONE single culture and belief system.

This couldnt be further from the truth...

Seriously...look at this continent..no seriously go pull up a map or something then honestly say to yourself that EVERY damn nation in the ancient world operated under identical systems (yes, they had similar principles but they WERE NOT identical)...this leads me into my next point...

I truly believe it is the ego that asserts that every black in America is either this or that. There is no room for flexibility with some folks...this is dangerous. Until we can accept our diversity and come together on common grounds (i.e. we all black and in the same boat in America...aint that good enough?) we will never get anywhere...

In short, whether you read the bible, koran, study the stars, ect IT DONT MATTER as long as it points back to AFRICA. The only issue we have is when it condemns our homeland (I'm not about to go in on the groups that do...thats another post y'all!).

When we can do this I'M POSITIVE we will begin to rise out of our situation.

Now that's UTILIZING THE FEMININE PRINCIPLE... more on this later.

SEXUAL CONSCIOUSNESS

Our generation (you know, 80s and 90s babies) have been taught to fear our genitals, be despised and disgusted with anything that has to do with sex and vehemently reject anyone or anything that handles the topic of erotica frankly. Simultaneously, we can easily access pornographic images (somebody reading this just blushed and denied that last statement with all their heart and soul...its okay young man/woman...we know you watched/watch porn) as well as see sex in ALMOST ALL advertisements targeted at our demographics or younger. Not to mention our beloved Hip-Hop has become a twerk-a-thon according to mainstream (hey, y'all know I don't mind the twerking but that's another topic).

What a god damn paradox we live in! 

Thanks to media and growing up around the rise of the internet I never once as a child wondered where babies came from. I knew the creative act that brought about life, including all the sticky details. I'm just the first to admit out loud, but I'm sure the rest of my generation can say the same. Some of us dove into this act at young ages not really knowing our vaginas/penises. We only really knew the urge they produced was so overwhelming it drove us to satisfy it. Some of us may still operate on this level of sexual consciousness.

Ladies, it is especially important for us to embrace our bodies as sexual and life giving entities as well as the uniqueness of our individual sexualities. We cannot call ourselves Gods while shunning the act and energy that is most associated with the Goddess: Sex and Sexuality. 

Yes, sex is a sacred and highly spiritual act! Our Afrikan ancestors understood this well. We sometimes misinterpret their praise of this sacred act and frown our faces at the nude and erotic archeology of yesteryear. Gods, we are entering into a new age and just like we have began to tear down the old ideologies of religion we NEED to tear down the out dated and patriarchal ideologies about sex.

I pose these questions in hopes to stir some sincere deep thoughts about how we have sex. Sex is a POWERFUL tool that we have become too afraid to even talk about let alone realize what faculties it holds...

The After Math of Polight vs. Hebrew Isrealites!!

I REALLY wish I could be writing about the WHOLE debate but sadly, I cant write from that perspective today. Due to technical difficulties we weren't able to view the live stream as planned but instead got to play around in the chat room, chopping it up with other like minded individuals. (We go into more detail about the debate itself in our upcoming video! Y'all can check that out to hear about our experience with the chat room and live stream!)

Any who, I wanted to throw my humble opinion in on some of the comments made during the aftermath of the debate. As I was lurking through the many videos on different Youtube channels I kept hearing a common theme: We all need to adhere to the SAME spiritual doctrine in order to become strong as a people. I agree and disagree. If we look into the MANY spiritual systems of Africa we find that they didn't all adhere to the same system. We use the Egyptians as a point of reference but laid side by side next to any other system in that VAST continent we find that their systems are not identical nor completely foreign to one another. What we will find are common principles! I wont go into all principles (By all means do that research! Don't let me have all the fun!) for lack of time and space but I feel there is something to be learned here. Even though our ancestors had different names for their Gods, different rituals for honoring the God energies and different creation stories all together they all share the belief that all this energy originated from one great spirit!

Now, if we as black folks can come to an agreement on where we get our energy from (in our case we would have to acknowledge that a very important aspect of spirit is manifested in the black woman; the aspect of creation!) then the rest of the details would become miniscule! We don't HAVE to agree about every single detail BUT WE MUST agree about the source! If we got our principles down pact hell, someone can believe that we float up and dissolve into the moon when we die! Shit, the details wont matter as long as we acknowledge the source...
